[edit] Receptions
Upon its release, the Titan was praised for its combination of a roomy interior, strong towing capacity, aggressive styling, and innovative features, such as wide opening rear doors in the King Cab, factory sprayed-on bedliner, and a lockable storage compartment outside the bed on the driver's side. It was listed by Edmunds.com as the best full-size truck. The Titan was nominated for the North American Truck of the Year award for 2004.
[edit] Future model
The Future of the Nissan Titan is yet to be determined. Nissan had been working with Chrysler to build a truck for them based on the Dodge Ram, but both companies decided to part ways in Aug 09. Nissan is committed to staying in the light truck market and is looking at other manufacturers (such as Ford, GM, and Toyota) or building the second generation Titan in house. Production of the Frontier, Pathfinder, and X-Terra would also be uncertain because of their Titan underpinnings. However, since the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 will be based on the Japan market Nissan Patrol full-size SUV for the 2011 model year, it is certainly possible that the Titan can be redesigned on the same platform as the Armada/Patrol/QX56 in the near future.
Making news in November 2009; "CEO of Nissan, Carlos Ghosn, has revealed that the pickup will survive. Ghosn went on to reveal that it could be designed and built completely in-house at Nissan or with a new partner, though the specifics haven’t been finalized."[3] According to an article posted by Autoblog January 5 2010 "Nissan will continue to build the current Titan at its factory in Canton, Mississippi."[4]
[edit] Japan
The Nissan Titan will be introduced and sell in Japan by assemble in Kanda, Fukuoka, Japan, sharing production line with some Nissan crossover SUV such as Murano, Dualis, Rogue, X-Trail. However, it is different specifications from the US-spec versions such as the VK56DE engine is swap away, replacing with the more fuel-efficient, GT-R-sourced VR38DETT twin-turbocharged engine. The transmissions are also sourced from the GT-R, replacing the automatic transmissions with the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission.
[edit] Criticism
The Titan has drawn criticism for its limited body styles. In contrast to other full-sized pickups, the vehicle does not offer a Regular Cab, and is only available with the King Cab and Crew Cab models. The Titan is only available with the 5.6L V8, and does not have a V6 engine option.
2004 and 2005 Nissan Titan trucks and Nissan Pathfinder Armada SUVs have reported problems with warping of their rotors. Although no recall was ever issued for this problem, Nissan has, with good faith, replaced or repaired the rotors and brakes of those models affected by the problem due to the existence of a repair bulletin.
All 2004 models are affected and some 2005 models built before July 27th.
The problem has since been fixed on subsequent model years.

A gorgeously illustrated guide to this iconic muscle car The Pontiac Firebird was originally overshadowed by the popular Chevrolet Camaro, but the Firebird developed a loyal following and a reputation for enough high-performance to earn a high-profile spot in muscle car history. It also had a role in pop culture as Burt Reynolds drove a Trans Am in Smokey and the Bandit and young David Hasselhoff took direction from his talkingA Trans Am in Knight Rider. While 1970s environmental and insurance interests emasculated most muscle cars, the Trans Am mad a defiant last stand. In 1973, Pontiac introduced the mighty Trans Am Super Duty 455, one of the mightiest muscle cars ever. The Camaro series continues with this article covering some of the details of the 1st generation model.
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Rally SS pictures
GM released the Camaro towards the end of 1966 as the 1967 model. Also, the Pontiac Firebird evolved along the side of this new Chevrolet, but we deal directly with the Camaro in this series.
1st gen Camaro powered by GM Performance Parts pictures
The original Camaro rolled through much of its prototype, testing and development stages being known as the XP-836. Later, the car was labeled as the Chaparral, and a few other names, as it neared the actual production phase. It is rumored that the car was finally named the Camaro because nobody knew what it meant.

2010 New Mustang Badge
The Ford Mustang is mostly responsible for the Camaro coming into existence with a vengeance.Make no mistake about it. The Camaro was released to do battle with the awesome Ford Mustang which was dominating (and had actually started) this pony car class of automobiles. The General Motors Corvair didn't have what it would take to hold the front lines for Chevrolet in this war (plus the Corvair was getting some bad press). Also, there were already nearly 1 1/2 million Mustangs to contend with. These cars were considered the compacts for their day. The new Camaro would have no time to pussyfoot around.

The 67 Camaro was released on an all new GM F-body platform, and was available as a 2-door coupe or convertible. Within 90 days of introduction there was a broad choice of engines ranging between a 230 cu in 140 hp inline-6, and the V8 which went from the 302 cu in (4.9 L), 307 cu in (5.0 L), 327 cu in (5.4 L), 350 cu in (5.7 L), on up to the Turbo-Jet 396 cu in 375 hp (6.5 L) V8 powerplant. See the 1967 Motor-Trend road test on the SS 350. A 1967 Camaro RS/SS-396 convertible was selected to pace the Indianapolis 500 during this year. Also, a number of 67 Camaro's were converted to Yenko 427 power by the famous Yenko Chevrolet of Cannonsburg, PA.

Models available with the 1967 Camaro were the Base Coupe and convertible, the RS Rally Sport Coupe and convertible, the Z28 and Z28 RS Rally Sport Coupe, the Indy 500 Pace Car Replica, the SS Super Sport and convertible, and the SS RS Super Sport Rally Sport Coupe and convertible.
1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Spec Sheet image
The 1968 Camaro had mainly small cosmetic changes on the exterior, and the motors were about the same with the exception of L89 "rat" 396 big block which was essentially the "regular" L78 396 with expensive aluminum heads, and because of this expense only 272 "68" Camaro's were built with this option.

The 1969 Camaro saw an overall restyling on the exterior which was meant to give the vehicle a more aggressive look. There was also the JL8 4-wheel power disk brake option of which only 206 were built because of the high cost.

There were still the slew of motor options available, but this year saw two 427 engine packages added to the lineup. The first was the ZL1 (highly collectible) full race aluminum block, aluminum head V8, which again because of the high cost saw a total of only 69 produced. The other 427 was the L72 iron block 425 hp motor originally found in the 66 Corvette.

Zorly American Metal 5th Generation Modern 2010 Bow-Tie Chevy Camaro American Metal Series performance reviews - Fifth gen
"Chevrolet history leads to the new GM Chevrolet 5th Gen Camaro Series" by Paul Malessa aka Zorly
5th Generation Chevrolet Camaro interior pictures
Welcome! This series has officially launched and is all about the upcoming 5th generation Camaro LS, LT, and SS which will soon be released to prey on its' worthy competitors in the new horsepower wars. You can believe there will be a strong underpinning, on the Camaro, right off the bat, as there is a vast amount of experience and inventory to be had from the highly successful and vicious (to the opposition) Corvette and other models.
These articles on the new Camaro will be similar the "Corvette C6 C7 American Metal by Zorly" blog that we also put out, but this series will focus on the new Camaro and the history that led up to this 5th generation version that is set to release in 2009 as the 2010 model. Remember that Corvette engine modifications are almost entirely going to work in the Camaro as well.

We will go from its' beginning, and do a history on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation models leading into the 5th generation which is the new Camaro. Once we get on the new or 5th generation Camaro we will cover anything of interest to the Modern Camaro Enthusiast, and will stick with what is new and current with the vehicle, also what the super reputable tuners, and aftermarket companies are doing to better the stock vehicles performance.

The first engines offered on the new model will be both a V6 and V8.

The V6 is a 217 cubic inch (3.6L) cranking out 300 ponies. It was rated as one of "Ward's 10 Best Engines" in 2008.
LS3 V8 marked for the Vette is same as SS Camaro motor pics
The V8 376 cubic inch (6.2L) will start off with 2 configurations. 1st is the L99 which is rated at 400 horsepower, and next is the famous LS3 rated at 422 h.p. on the SS. The LS3 is famous for its thick cylinder walls. Remember that the LS3 is closely related to C6 Corvette, and the ZR1 supercharged (or blown) version that kicks out well over 600 hp, so this baby is going to be a tuners delight.
There will be 2 versions of both the automatic and manual transmissions.

The automatic is a 6 speed TAPshift Hydra-Matic 6L50, and 6L80 for the SS. TAPshift transmission control allows you to shift the standard 6-speed automatic gearbox up or down a gear with just a touch of the paddles mounted on the steering wheel hub.
